Got my hair trimmed because it's grown so quickly. My stylist was just chatting away with me and she ran the clippers over the back of my hair and suddenly stopped and realized we 'didn't do that last time' but it was a little late for that now. My hair is REALLY short now. Yikes! More Gennifer Goodwyn short than Katie Holmes short.
And speaking of Katie Homes, does anyone else think "it's about damn time" that she divorces Tom Cruise and gets away from his mind control whako-ness?
And speaking of clippers, my household is in an uproar looking for Daddy-O's hair clippers. Mac uses them to give himself a haircut last week and Daddy-O helped him. Mac said Daddy-O took the clippers back and Daddy-O thought he gave the clippers to Mac. We've turned the house upsidedown looking for those suckers in all the obvious places and some not.
Does anyone else just LOVE Subway?
Is anyone else going to watch the new show on CBS this fall called Sherlock?
Does anyone else just love hotel sex?
I'd love to learn how to use Pinterest. Still can't figure that sucker out.
I've been thinking it would be cool if I could operate a Mac Book laptop.
Daddy-O and I went to a Kroger Market Place which is a cool twist on the super store idea but BETTER. It has furniture and home stuff. We found a "painting" on canvas in the lobby and after I finally found a clerk and made her scan it, we found it was $30. This thing usually retails for $80, and it's about 4x5 feet and totally cool. I grabbed it and had them hold it at the cusstomer service desk; hey, with that discount it HAD to be bought!!!!
It seems the new trend in the area I live is to now NOT find out the gender of the baby. I know all these pregnant women, or women who've very recently had babies, and no one is finding out the boy or girl answer. And just a few years ago, everyone was finding out the gender as soon as it was possible. Interesting. I don't care either way, but I think trends are interesting.
I want to have a Bernese Mountain Dog instead of a baby. Naming it will be just as fun!
I don't care what anyone says; Charlie Sheen is just hot and still sexy.
Today was a super busy day at work. Since we have tomorrow until Monday off for the 4th holiday, and then I'm going to be at a conference from Monday thru Thursday and then we have our July Recess until the last day of July, I won't be back at school for a MONTH! Go me! however, this does mean I had about a million things to do today. I made a to-do list and crossed off every single item! And for the first time EVER, I have to say that every single library book was returned!!!!!!!! I didn't have to go to the kids' res halls or do locker searches. Kids brought them back. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This weather sucks and I hate it. The heat is killing me. And it's only early July; it's going to be a very long, hot, miserable summer.
My phone is telling me I have very little storage data left. I thought I'd delete stuff and there's all this Sprint shit I can't get rid of but I never use it like the football and NASCAR app. Nor do I Facebook and I can't delete it either. It's taking up valuable space and it just pisses me off that because it's part of the "phone company's promo" stuff, I can't remove them.

"This is a bawdy tale. Herein you will find gratuitous shagging, spanking, maiming, treason, and heretofore unexplored heights of vulgarity and profanity, as well as non-traditional grammar, split infinitives, and the odd wank. If that sort of thing bothers you, then gentle reader pass by, for we only endeavor to entertain, not to offend. That said, if that’s the sort of thing you think you might enjoy, then you have happened onto the perfect story!" ~ Christopher Moore, Fool

Addictions
I'm addicted to games on my phone. I play "Words with Friends" (a form of Scrabble) and "draw Something". I play all the time.
I also Tweet. A lot.
I track my bank balance on my phone, as well as my weight loss and my calorie intake. And my period.
And I keep track of my Starbucks account on my phone.
I check movie times and locations daily.
I have my phone at church because I have a Bible app.
I listen to music, too, so my phone is an ipod of sorts. I check my mail on 3 accounts here. I have my address book on my phone.
Oh yeah, I also text and call people.
Is there a group for me?

Holy Cow- it's cold! Finally! And other news...
It didn't get above 61 degrees here today, and that was in the sun. There's a terrific breeze (maybe we can call it a wind?) blowing and it's just beautiful after all the we must be in hell HOT HEAT ICK we've had here in the Midwest. It's so cold that Daddy-O's hung around the house in long pants, socks, long sleeves and a hat on his bald head. ITSam wore jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt. I told them they were wusses and there would be 10 feet of snow outside and I was still wearing flip-flops, short sleeves and my capris. Man, I hate it when I shoot my mouth off. Once I finally lit in one spot long enough, and right in front of a window with the wind blowing on me, I was sort of wishing for socks and long sleeves. However, I am sticking to my resolve to wear flip-flops only...
Yes, those are flip-flop socks. Think mittens for your toes with the big toe playing the role of thumb.
In other news...
I heard from Mac today and the phone is officially stolen. No one has seen it, heard it, turned it in for lost, etc. It's gone, gone, gone. And all that stuff we hear about on tv about not being able to trace the "throw away" phones? Well, that's true, so if you want to commit a crime and need a phone, get a throw away! I wanted to see if there was any activity on the phone between when it was lost until now, but AT&T can't do it since it's the "disposable" go-phone. The other thing that sucks is that I can't get a replacement because of that so I have to buy him a whole new phone. And of course the college wouldn't do anything to help with this either. That just ticks me off. Mac, while a butthead in other ways sometimes, isn't at fault for the phone being stolen. I bought it on-line as a refurb, and might order him another the same way. I'm sitting here with a $50 re-fill card for it so I might as well. I hate crap like this. The good news is that whomever got the phone can't use Mac's number and minutes because the phone company killed the SIM card in it; however, the perpetrator could go to an AT&T store and just buy another SIM card and still use the phone. That so sucks.
This weekend Archiver's hosted ANOTHER free craft weekend- they SO rock! This time is was making 3-D flowers. Here are our efforts:

I went to Wally World to grocery shop and the shelves, and as Mother Hubbard would say, are bare. Since it's a holiday weekend so many vendors haven't been in to re-stock ,and pickins were slim on lots of things. It's a good thing that Daddy-O hates the Slimmwich bread rounds with all the grains, nuts, twigs, and oat flakes on top because I couldn't buy any of those; all they had were PLAIN- much to father's liking but too bad for anyone else- and one package of Plain, which I snagged! I also looked for either Club or Townhouse crackers, the original flavor. Not garlic, not low sodium, not light butter, not wheat, not pretzel, not Flipz, not herb, but PLAIN BUTTER ORIGINALS. None. I even broke my cardinal rule and asked an associate (Oh Lord help us, but I didn't kill anyone!) but to no avail. The associate who helped me said she thought there were some on a display somewhere and she looked and called someone else to help her look but couldn't find any. None. But near the door, I found the display, AND the last box of crackers!!!!!!! (I have to giggle that they "lost" a whole display... guess that's the way the cracker crumbles! *I can hear you all groan, you know!*)
And in the category of "I'm an idiot"... I put on a gray shirt this morning but didn't like how it fit so I grabbed one of Mac's old t-shirts, that's bright BRIGHT green! Then I went grocery shopping and when I came out and caught sight of a bright green shirt reflection on the car window, I literally turned around and looked behind me for Mac. Then I looked down and saw the green was me... I was really surprised and went "hey, I'm wearing a green shirt!" Oh. my. goodness! No, I am not blond.
I get a phone call from ITSam that goes something like this:
him: "Hypothetically speaking, how do you clean up hand-cream that was in a tube that might have been on the floor and then might have been stepped on and say, hypothetically, shot out all over the carpet in a big oozing puddle glob?"
me: "Oh gross. Did you step in it too, hypothetically speaking?"
him: "nope, but the hypothetical carpet smells good. I scooped it up with cardboard. Do you want me to put it in a jar or baggie or something to keep it?"
So, a tube of my Bath and Body Hand Cream- gardenia scent- was on his bedroom floor and is now ON THE FLOOR and he wants to know if he should keep it for me? Ummm, I think not. I also want to say he took a picture of the mess and I was going to post it here but this blog is rated PG-13 (an occasional R thrown in)- not X! Ick! You really don't want to see that...
Finally, I know it was a 4 day weekend for me but I am so not ready to go back to school tomorrow. And I know that means I only have a 3 day school week but I still don't wanna go. I am SO lazy!
And that's it from here.

My "phone"
Since I've gotten my HTC Evo phone, I've been experimenting with it's features. I know there's a ton of stuff it can do that I haven't tapped but I'm learning... slowly!
One thing that I love is the GPS. First, I've named the GPS component Moneypenny. I use it every time I drive kids on transportation home. I used it when I took Daddy-O to the airport yesterday. Sometimes I just play with it around town to see what it will say. I love that I can turn in a different direction and she says, in a very rude voice, "Reconfiguring." Or my personal favorite is, "Make a legal U-turn." Or when she says, "Reconfiguring.... make a legal U-turn." The state I live in has no such thing as a "legal u-turn." I was irritated at Moneypenny the other day when I ran into road construction and rather than "reconfiguring" all she could say was "make a legal u-turn" which is very unhelpful when I was lost in part of my state I had never been to before! But I do adore my GPS.
I must also admit I love the calendar feature and the ability to play music like it's an iPod. I use Google. Yes, I actually Google stuff with my phone when I'm out and about and need information. I have my Goodreads account flagged on my phone and can look at my "books to read" list while in a bookstore. I use the calculator and the tip calculator. I am a nerd.
Then there are the games. I used to make fun of people who played games on their phones. I apologize. Because I am now a game junkie. Is there is a support group for us? I love Boggle. I'm addicted to Boggle. I play Boggle all the time and have managed to get about 6000 points in one shot, which is my highest score. I also like to play Classic Simon and Classic Tetris. Glow Hockey is super awesome, too. I also like the Marshmallow- Spaghetti game. Bubbletap is lots of fun. I'm also doing some mindless fun with Animal Alchemy or with Ninja Kaka Valentine. I have Pew pew, which is a shooting game but I don't know how to work it yet. I am proud to say that I don't play Angry Bird. I just can't get it together with birds and pig; for some reason that doesn't make any sense to me. Uh.
Some of my other favorite apps are magic marker where ITSam and I play our own twisted version of Pictionary. I love my flashlight app. I have an air horn app, a mood scanner app which tells me my mood incorrectly on a regular basis, a Whoopee cushion app which makes mischief in the mall, and the Magic 8 Ball app- someone has to tell my future so why not an app for that? And because I am a post-it junkie in the real world, I have a post-it app, of course.
There's tons of ring tone apps, of course and I have a few. I love my ring tones, special ones for special people. I have a couple apps for ringtones, but I think my fav ringtone app is the one of all Beatles tunes. That makes me happy.
Did I mention I also have a Kindle and Nook app? That's pretty cool. I haven't bought a book yet but I'm going to after I get new glasses- it's a small screen to try and read a whole book one, but it's not really a small screen for a phone. But I have played with some of the free books and these are pretty cool features. (And if I'm completely honest, I'll admit it makes me want a Nook or Kinle, one with the wireless anywhere features....Anyway!)
Oh yeah........... I can text and make phone calls, too.

Mac and the temper tantrum
I get really embarrassed when people throw hissy fits in public places. I'm embarrassed for total strangers when it happens and when I'm with someone who's doing it, I want to appease at any cost because I'm so ashamed. I want to preface this post with this confession.
ITSam, Mac and I went to get Mac a new phone earlier this week and due to some weird Sprint rules, we can't add Mac to Sam's phone plan for another 30 days. Ummmm, we didn't know this before we went to Best Buy and tried to get said phone. And Mac had already had his "new phone experience" pushed back an extra 30 days because of the car repairs I had to pay for.
This did not bode well with Mac. He was really pi**ed off. I explained a few options to him:
a) I get him a "throw away" phone to use for 30 days which will have text and call on it
b) I get a phone plan for him that day but he gets a job and makes the payments
Obviously "A" was practical. (And sounds cool. "Throw away" phone sounds so conspiracy/ criminal/ gangster/ Jason Bourne, doesn't it?)
The problem with "B" was that I promised Mac that I would get him a phone and I would pay for it as long as he was working on his Bachelor's degree and not failing any classes or quit/ dropped out of college/ kicked out of college. My other stipulation was that he got what I could afford and if he wanted something bigger and better as time went on, then the phone would be his responsibility. I didn't want him to have to take on this financial responsibility. Furthermore, if we went this route, he's still a minor so the phone would be in my name and if he bailed on the payments, I get stuck!
He then proceeded to have a hissy fit over the whole thing.
He's 5'11" and weighs about 270 pounds. When he threw a fit as a little kid I could scoop him up and take him out of the store. Unless I got a hand cart and a tazer, that wasn't going to happen. And short of him throwing himself on the floor and kicking and screaming, he had a big old fit.
So what did I do? I had no balls and was embarrassed to death and wanted him to shut up so I said, "Fine. What do you want? My phone?" and he said yes.
So for the next 30 days he has my phone and I have a throw away.
Yes, I realize all the things I did wrong here. I realize he was a complete and total ass.
I am ready for him to leave for college. Right now.
Please.

Random Tuesday musings
Just because I love Johnny Depp doesn't mean I want to sit through Rango.
I'm almost 40 and I have zits on my forehead. A complete "you've got to be kidding" moment.
I wish I could wear a pencil skirt.
Gwyneth Paltrow is amazing, and I enjoy her in everything, including Glee!
I downloaded the Boggle app on my phone and I'm becoming addicted. I was thinking that tomorrow's lunch at school is disgusting so I was going to just sit in my library and play Boggle. I might need therapy.
There's a barber shop where the stylists dress like a Hooter's waitress to cut hair. The walls are covered in huge flat screen tvs that play sports over and over. The haircuts are about $30. You've got to be kidding- again.
Alcatraz is going to an all year round school schedule the next school year. So much for summers off- which I think is a GOOD thing. I'll let you know the details as they are forthcoming.
Randomly yours,
Maggie

Random observations
ITSam and I were told about a house for rent in a neighboring little burg. It's a little town about 10 minutes from Civilization,15 minutes from Southern Civilization, and 5 minutes from Alcatraz. The house isn't available yet. We didn't know the address but I knew the name of the street, Sam said he thought the owner said it was yellow, and we both KNOW it has a 3 car garage and 4 bedrooms. We thought we would drive down that street to see if we could figure out which house it was. I mean, really, how many houses could be big enough to be 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, with a 3 car garage, that might be yellow? The answer is 9, to be exact. 9! There are 9 huge houses with three car garages--- and 6 of those are a "variation" of yellow. We'll know in a few days when it's going to be available.
I bought a cupcake, a gourmet one, at a specialty bakery. I was saving it for an after dinner, pre-bedtime snack. I told everyone to not eat it. When I went looking for it, Mac had eaten it, claiming he didn't "hear" me say to not. I wanted to kill him. Oh yes, over a cupcake, I know is rather stupid, but add this to all his bad attitude, "I-know-everything-because- I'm- a- senior," senior-itis and I really just wanted to smack him on a regular basis. Can't we just tape their mouths shut until graduation? I say "they" because I have hope that misery loves company and other parents of seniors feel this same way. Please don't let me be the only one...
I'm loading pictures in my phone of people so when they call me, their photo pops up. I find it strangely ironic that every single picture I have of each person, they are all wearing red shirts. First, how weird is that? Second, is that a sign? Third, do you have any idea what that does to the OCD side of my brain? And the people for whom I don't have pictures, with the whole red thing hanging over me now?
We have a small, locally owned coffeeshop and I will only go if a certain barista is working. Seriously, I call and if K isn't working, I don't get a latte. I drink regular old, black Folgers. Sad, isn't it? She makes my drink the best and the rest of the employees sort of suck at it so I refuse to go otherwise. She's taking a week off soon and I'm in a panic. I might have to get up 90 minutes early one day to drive to Southern Civilization to go to Starbucks. (Logically I should go on a day when we have a snow delay for the time but it's rather illogical because- duh- we have a snow day so I shouldn't be out that early... yeah, what a dichotomy!)
I woke up this morning to find that more snow has fallen. And I am not excited. At all. In fact, it makes me sort of tired to think of it.
It's a good thing I don't live in Alaska because then I would be able to have even more shoes that I do now- snowshoes to be exact. Like I need one more "style". I can't even find my warm snow boots, now though. Maybe I should go boot shopping?
It makes me ANGRY that people pay to have their driveways cleared or they work outside for hours with a snow blower clearing away so they can get out and then the stupid, rude city plows pile a bunch of snow at the opening of the driveway.
Speaking of snowplows and Alaska, the not quite "sex scene" in the movie Mystery, Alaska (one of the coolest movies ever) is hilarious and takes place in a snow plow.
Hey, I warned you it was all random...
Mags

New meaning to hand held computer
The Verizon contract has come to its bitter end and I'm now taking a new adventure into the world of cell phones. Not only do I have a new phone and with a new carrier we shall refer to as Sprint, I also have joined with ITSam and am on his contract. So many chances I'm taking here! Who said almost turning 40 is no longer full of adventure!
And what a phone did I get. Before I reveal all that is my new phone I want to point out I had an EnV 2. I could text and talk. I could download cool ringtones. I could use the calendar feature. If I wanted to pay a small fortune and sacrifice my first born to the cell phone gods, I could've gotten email and the Internet on it but I didn't. I would talk, text, calendar, use the alarm feature and use the calendar. It had a camera on it that I used in photographic emergencies, and I could email the picture off my phone to my email as a text. That was the extent of the coolness factor of the EnV2.
I now have a HTC EVO 4G phone. Basically I have a mini computer that is also a phone. The HRC is Sprint's version of the iPhone. I'm online. I have apps. I've already got the Kindle app and the screen is big enough I could read an entire book on it. It will also act as an iPod. Apparently I'll be able to put my music from my iTunes on it. Yeah, I have a computer for a phone. I can take pictures and text. I can load my pictures from my computer on it. I can blog from it. I can surf the web on it. I'm just overwhelmed with the coolness of it all. And I am super excited that it seems fairly easy to use (SO FAR!!!) and when I get stumped, I can actually walk into Best Buy, Radio Shack or a Sprint store for help! (As opposed to using my old Verizon phone when I had to go to the Verizon store for help, which was usually a 20-45 minute wait. Yeah, great.)
Did I mention I got to keep my cell phone number? They "ported" it over, whatever that means in lingo. For me it means, I get my same number so there's no hassle in changing it with everyone. I also got all my contacts, pictures and ringtones ported, so I didn't have to re-download everything nor re-enter everything. That is awesome!
It's really weird. I'm never the person with new technology. I'm usually the last one to get it, if I get it at all. I'm sure this is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more phone than I need. But it sure is FUN! I mean, it's really cool to say I have 'apps'. And I will never be caught anywhere without a book ever again, which is supremely awesome. I'll always have cool music, too, which is also amazing. (though I think I need to get a pair of c
heap-o headphones to keep in my purse so I have a set on hand at all times... or on head at all times?)
I'll keep you updated on how this works out for me. Thankfully I have 30 days to see how it all goes. If I don't like it, have problems, find it's way more phone than I need, whatever, I have 20 more days to change it over for something else.
Technology is in my hand!

Last minute updates and teasers
I didn't have a chance to talk to the principal about the nasty comment described in yesterday's post but I have a meeting with him on Monday!
I applied for a part time job (like a need another one!) to direct a school musical at a neighboring high school! More on this if it comes to fruition!
January is not having me start as a good blogger. I can't believe I forgot to blog today. Well, I didn't really forget. I thought I was going to have an update about yesterday to post this afternoon and when it didn't happen the thought of blogging flew out my head. I was swamped with the mundane today.
ITSam has his son this weekend so I have a BF free weekend. Sadly, I'm looking forward to that. I think I'm still upset about Tuesday. I don't hold grudges usually (does the one I have against my ex count?) but I'm struggling to get over this.
Speaking of the ex, SD still hasn't called Mac since the day they went shopping. What a jerk. He tells Mac he wants to try and improve their relationship and then goes on hiatus. Mac said he's waiting for the other shoe to drop. Smart kid.
My Verizon Wireless contract is up in 11 more days. Can we hear a round of applause? I think Sprint will get my business.
We [we being teachers and parents who give a crap about their kids' homework assignments] yell and yell at our teens when they write assignments in "texting" language but I have what I feel to be a legitimate question. The word "I" is spelled "I" as in "I can't wait for the weekend." So why isn't the word "are" spelled r and the word "why" spelled y and "see" spelled c? Hey, I'm just sayin'...

Princess Weekend and other randomness
- This weekend, this coming Sunday, I'll be 39 years old. I feel every year as I type this post. That aside, I must admit that ITSam is taking is the whole birthday thing pretty seriously. He, all on his own, without any encouragement from me, he's declared it "Princess Weekend." And he's buying me a new tiara. And he said we can do anything I want all weekend long. AND, he said he'll be my "Man Slave." I think I love him. I think he loves me. Damn...
- What is the etiquette for handicapped bathroom stalls? I know that if there's a baby changing table in it, then it's fair game to anyone, right? Or at least I thought so. But what about other times? I was at the mall the other day and the handicapped stall was empty and there was a line of women waiting but no one went in. And this has happened other times when I've been places. Is this right? Are we not supposed to use the handicapped stall like not using the handicapped parking space? What if the bathroom is just a 2 seater? Do we all just stand there and not go and use only 1? I'm so confused.
- Mac is getting tons and tons of stuff from colleges all over the country. I've been told that's pretty standard for college bound seniors. But today he got something from Alaska pacific University. He asked me if he went there could AlaskaSam give him residency and that he could adopt him because he would be a better dad than the one he has.... uh, yeah. O-kay.
- I have a bunch of ring tones on my phone. Mac does tease me a little bit because someone at my age has ring tones but to me it's like have some cell phone organization. Some of my people have ring tones because the song and the person are tied together like ITSam is "True Companion", Patti who lives in Florida has "Margaritaville", my boss that I take pictures for has "Photograph" by Nickleback, XRay Girl and Gulo are "Hey Soul Sister", AlaskaSam is "The Weary Kind", and Daddy-O is "We are family." Some songs I have on my phone because I love the song, love the way it makes me feel and makes me happy. I assigned these to people who I love, the way they make me feel and who make me happy! Lilith has "Glitter in the Air" by Pink, one of my all time favorite songs. Curley has "I Got a Feeling". Now all that being said I went to see the movie Easy A yesterday and the main character Olive gets an audio card from her grandma and the song is "Pocketful of Sunshine." There's an ongoing gag through a part of the film about that song which made me howl with laughter because that's my default ringer song!!!!!

I hate Verizon Wireless. Can you hear me now? I HATE them!
Verizon Wireless makes my head want to explode. (Actually, I say that often about things. It's, like, my thing to say and I say it waaaaaaaay to much. But in this case, it's really true. they do!)
Since Moving back and not having a job, I've run my cell phone bill about a month in arrears since about March. In August, I wanted to have Mac taken off my plan since his SD added him to his cell phone package about a year ago and his phone line hasn't been in use all this time. But I couldn't take him off until August because that was when his plan expired.
Only I couldn't take him off my plan since I was a month behind. According to VZW a customer can't make any changes in their phone plans unless their bill is paid in current. So, this last Monday, I paid my whole phone bill off, up to date.
Then I called Verizon, or a company that is obviously run and operated by Satan and his minions, to change my plan. This is again where Verizon gets to screw me hardcore and not even buy me dinner.
Because Mac was on my plan, were under a 'friends and family' package. Once I deleted him, I had to restructure my 'package.' I send lots of text messages so I decided I wanted to keep my unlimited texting to other VZW users, and then I have 500 messages to those who are NOT VZW. We checked my average talk minutes and I average about 260 a month- those are 'anytime' minutes. I debated going down to the 450 minutes but some months I was just at 500 minutes and other times I was just at 100- that's why 260 was an average. So I took a 900 minute package. With 900 minutes, I can pick any 5 people I want to have on a list that I can call for free at any time- not using any minutes. Also, because I dropped my 'family' package and just became a single package again (cell phone for 1 anybody?) it changed some of the perks I had. My "free" nights and weekends now are from 9pm-6pm in whatever time zone I happen to be in, rather than starting at 7 pm like it was. I also dropped my Internet usage and email from my phone. Now all I can do is talk and send/receive text messages and pictures. I can take pictures, which is a feature of the phone and has nothing to do with the horrid VZW company. All that being said, believe it or not, and will all the stupid changes and loss of perks, I will end up saving...$12. Yup, all that mess to save me $12- tax included.
I. am. pissed. I went from 1800 minutes to 900, lost the Internet and email, lost 5 'friends and family free numbers', and lost a whole phone line and I. am. only. saving. $12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE VERIZON WIRELESS!!!!!!! HATE HATE HATE them. With a fiery passion like no other.
Now, I could make my savings be a little more. I could be a single plan, go to 450 talk minutes, drop the phone insurance, have zero 'free friends and family' lines, and drop the text/ picture messaging, and I would save about $20 more.
My stupid phone plan isn't over until January 2011. I am practically counting the seconds until I can get away from this horrid company.

Voodoo isn't always a bad thing, right?

The above is my voodoo doll. Okay, I bought it for my folks when I was in The Big Easy about 10 years ago and after my post last week, Daddy-O dug it out.
But here's the news that's fit to print. Think I should or should NOT use the Ol' Black Magic?
- Sperm Donor had emergency surgery and came out fine. He was in the hospital for 5 days and was in a lot of pain but is home now.
- Grandma Shrew is in the hospital as well with some sort of flu. She was there for a whole day and never called anyone because she couldn't remember any numbers, even though I live at the same number my mother (her daughter) had for 40 years. I'm just too terrible of a human being to call apparently. (Actually it's a good thing she didn't call. I don't want that sort of responsibility to her.) She would rather sit in the hospital without her family knowing than call me. COOL!
- Trooper has not told me to go away, though his gun shy-ness is shining through, but he's sweet about it. he's such a... trooper. *giggle* (Oh come on! That was a great pun!)
- ItalianSam sent me an email about a job that he has connections to so I might actually get an interview, at least. It's in Wisconsin somewhere... And it was a nice olive branch from him.
- The insurance office might have a full time opening and I might be considered- if I want to become an insurance sales person... That would involve commission and more schooling.
- The ice cream owner has to have some medical stuff done and wants me to run the day to day operations while this happens.
- I can't find a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue that I bought for AIISam last March at duty free. I've had it here in my room since the break up and was going to give it to Farrago as a birthday gift and now it's missing. And no I didn't drink it.
- I can't find my tv remote, either.
- When I told the bank about all the hoops I have to jump through for that stupid fucking Verizon Wireless to give me the overdraft fees back, they just credited my checking account and told me to not worry about it.
- I almost have free Indianapolis Colts tickets and am taking Trooper there on a date, if they come through. Now, am I the coolest could be girlfriend in history? (I think he might consider drastic measures if I scored Packers tickets... HAHA!)

Suck-tacular
That "word" describes my week" suck-tacular. This seems to be the week from hell.
Verizon Wireless made a mistake on my cell phone and double dipped a payment from my checking account. And while the error was all theirs, they're refusing to give me my 80 bucks back because it's so close to the day a payment is due. What they don't realize is that I used my checking account before I learned of the error and now have insufficient fund charges to the tune of $28 each and NO MONEY. I'm soooo pissed. I've been on the phone with them and my bank daily trying to fix it. They suck and I hate them. I hate them so much I'm waiting until I finally get this mess sorted out, then I'm canceling my service, reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and writing letters to every person at Verizon Wireless chastising them for their suck-tacular business practices. I swear if I HAD money I would take out full page ads in newspapers across the country, raking them over the coals. They SUCK.
I still have no regular full time job so I also have no insurance. And it's time for my annual physical. And the annual renewal of the birth control prescription. Which sucks.
I've also worked an ass load of hours with all my jobs and I'm tired. Bone tired. Dog tired. Which is making me a real bitch. Which sucks.
I'd like to see Trooper and see where this goes but because of his surgery, that's on hiatus. Furthermore, he's so nervous about dating because of how hard and bad he was burned in previous relationships, he's now thinking this maybe isn't a good idea because he doesn't want to ruin our friendship. He's also afraid of getting hurt again- and while I can say I won't hurt him because I've waited so long to make sure this was a right thing to do, it doesn't matter when he's scared. And do I dare tell him I've wanted him for a long time but thought he would reject me? Oh hell. And there's nothing I can do about it. Which all sucks.
Mac's sperm donor stupidmutherfuckingasshat of a father has not taken him out to drive a single time. Not once. That kid was beyond excited about getting his permit and could NOT wait to show that stupid fucker he calls a dad his permit and to show him his driving skills. SD merely said, "cool." And hasn't taken him out to practice a single minute. Which sucks.
Things will start looking up, I'm sure.
Living suck-tacularly,
Maggie

I need help with the EnV2! Please!
Does anyone know how I can save a picture that's on my laptop to my EnV2? I tried to send it to my web email as an attachment but I can't open it on the phone. I tried to save it on my Picasa account and open it but I can't save from the web on this phone. I can't send a text to my phone from my hotmail (someone might know how to do this and can walk me through???)
Any other scathingly brilliant ideas?

I no longer EnV CrackBerry users
Last week I got my second replacement BlackBerry. I just got my first Blackberry back in January of this year and I've had nothing but problems with it since day one. I've had very problems with it: wouldn't sync with my laptop, wouldn't connect to the WWW on the device, the email wouldn't work properly, it would freeze on a regular basis and I spent more time taking the battery out and putting it back in than I did using the Crackberry.
The newest replacement and the newest problem is that it shuts itself off and turns itself back on about every 3 minutes and has done that for a week.
I finally cracked up a bit when I called VerizonWireless. Let me tell you how badly this situation had gotten: I had the name and personal phone number with her extension and her personal email of a VZW technician who's been helping me with the mess that was my CrackBerry.
So I called her on Friday and finally said this was it and I hated it. I said if VZW wouldn't fix it, I was going to refuse to pay my bill and file daily complaints daily and with the Better Business Bureau until they were sick of me. She felt badly and thought I should be finished with Blackberry products. So she put me on hold and when she came back, it was all fixed.
The company is sending me a phone called an EnV2. I realize there is a phone called the EnV3 but since they were making exceptions they couldn't upgrade me to the "3". I guess the EnV2 is the Lg version of the Blackberry Curve and will do everything the Blackberry Curve would do except sync with Outlook- BUT my Crackberry Curve never would sync so I have no idea what I'm missing there.
So on Monday via Fed. Ex. I should be receiving my new EnV2 . So I guess we'll see what happens and if it functions well, like my old Strawberry Chocolate did, or if it turns out to be a piece of crap like my Crapberry... Cross your fingers that this phone functions properly. Either that or I'll be melting down.
Ring*ring,
Mags

Ring*ring,
Mags
