Damned if you do, damned if... well, if you do

I went to the The Dollar Tree and I love their education corner! And I found some really great bulletin board stuff. Since I'm just a worthless aide now and don't have my own room, I still like to look and I find reasons to buy!

I found some totally fabulous science words and I bought a package for the science teacher whose room I'm in. She thought they were totally AWESOME, and jumped up and down and promptly did a new bulletin board using them. How cool, right?

So on Thursday night I was in there and found some super cool boarder that was all US History stuff. Well, the 8th grade social studies curriculum is all US History! So I bought some boarder and gave it to the social studies teacher. He's a coach- did I mention that? And he never speaks to me when I'm in his room, unless I ask him a direct question. He isn't what you would call "Mr. Personality". So I gave him the boarder and he looked it and said, "Is this a hint that I should decorate my bulletin boards?" *Screeching halt*!!!!!!!

Shit. Well hell, that's not what I meant at ALL! Why would his first instinct be that I was being mean? I stuttered around and said no but I just thought it was cool. Then when I was in his classroom, I noticed, for the first time in months of sitting in his room, he really didn't decorate his bulletin boards real elaborately.

But I seriously just thought it was cool since it had Lincoln, the St. Louis Arch, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, and the like on it........ I thought he would just think it was neat.

Jerk.

I should go in his classroom when he's not there, steal it and keep it.

See if I ever do anything nice again....

Sports Jerk! I bet his mother never taught him manners. I think it was a nice thing to do. Most men just don't appreciate things that look nice. They don't realize that if the room looks interesting it holds appeal for the kids to learn.

aww..that sucks...you try to just do something nice, go out of your way to 'make someone's day' and it ends up taking you down!

he shouldn't have been insulted...but maybe he's just one of those shy, looser types that tends to say the wrong thing and put his foot in his mouth on a regular/annoying basis? lol

it was a nice gesture on your part, and sometimes that goes unnoticed by those you're aiming your kindness at....either way, you're sweet!!!!!!

ciao bella
creative carmelina was here!

I can't believe that! Just know that you did the right and nice thing! Easier said than done I know.

Bragger- you said it!

Curley- thank you- you said it!

Carmelina- thank you thank you thank you! I was trying to be nice and he is a jerk. What got me the most was that he automatically just ASSUMED i was being insulting to him. I've never been anything but respectful to him in the 6 months I've been in his room. I was bummed, and a little hurt!

Cheryl- when people go around talking about him, they usually call him a jerk. And he's a football coach to a loosing team so he probably should be worrying about keeping his job, not some bulletin board stuff.

tiffanee: thanks. I'll try to remember... grrrrrr!

Hello Maggie, I'm still making my Pink Saturday visits. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. Love your pink post this week. You really had me laughing in this post. Yes I agree mean people @#$%. I worked at a bank with people like this before taking this job at a Catholic School. People are so nice here it's unreal. I actually love to go to work everyday. Still can't believe it but it's been almost a year now and they are still as sweet as can be! I'll have to check out Dollar Tree, I always find great things when I go there. Love your blog!!!!!!
Blessings, Shirl

What a doofus (does anyone use that word anymore? I think it's great...)

Pity you couldn't find a border with historical moments in sports, you know, like Jackie Robinson and such. He'd probably go for that.
