This title is not a description of what's happening to by own ass due to my diet (yet!) but a cliched way of saying I'm a wee bit tired.
I woke up this morning at 4:41am dreaming about bacon and having to pee. Imagine my surprise to find Mac frying a pound of bacon when I hit the bottom of the stairs.
Then I couldn't go back to sleep because I knew I had to wake up at 5:30am. Yes, on a Saturday. I- the Queen of the NOT MORNINGS- had to wake up to shower, dress and do the hair (all 4 minutes that can now take!) because I had to photograph a morning wedding in a town about 90 minutes away.
So I did do all that.
Then I went to work my second shift job as a weekend receptionist until 10 pm tonight.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

"This is a bawdy tale. That said, if that’s the sort of thing you think you might enjoy, then you have happened onto the perfect story!" ~ Christopher Moore, Fool

Still tired
As of Friday night I worked 72 hours in 6 days.
I spent 8 hours photographing a wedding, so hours worked with all jobs and the overtime is now up to 80 hours. And I'm so happy we had no Bridzilla and no mean mother of the Bride. The bride got snippy with her own mom and the sister of the groom was a complete control freak, but as a professional, we photographers just worked around her.
Is there any other reason I'm so tired? I think not.
I'd like to take a week off and sleep...
And I have to work 7 more hour tomorrow and then things will "settle" down again. Yeah, right!

Stuck and tired
I am so bored. And I think being bored makes me tired. I usually sleep really well most nights, and I seem to get a "good" or healthy amount of sleep, or so it seems to me but the moment I have to sit for a long period of time or if I'm bored, then the "sleepies" aren't very far behind. I hate that.
I had to work the weekend receptionist job this weekend it just seemed to drag on forever and ever. I have a few things I wanted to get accomplished but I certainly couldn't being tied to a desk. I couldn't get some of my computer files, either, which i also found frustrating.
This seems to be a personal trend, and I've just figured it out. (Gee, never enough time for self actualization or realization!) If I am not able to do what I want and am forced to do something else, like work in this case, boredom sets in. I do have several good books to read but all I can think about is the stuff I CAN'T do and I'm fidgety, can't concentrate.
It's rare that I would have any excess energy or anything like that because I'm essentially a slug, but I had other things that I THOUGHT I could be doing but technology pooped on me so I'm just stuck with books. And yes, I like to read but instead my thought process is "great, I have 7 hours where I could be doing ----- but I can't because of this stupid computer and stupid job. If i had a real job then I wouldn't even be here at all. Great. I'm a loser. This sucks." I kid you not- that's how my brain works. Yes, I think I spend too much time with teenagers. So after all the cheerful self talk, I just get tired. Of listening to the sound of my own inner voice that I would like to strangle or smother with a pillow. Which then leads me to think about sleep- you know, pillow- and then I get tired. So then I'm a wonderful combination of bored, tired, and sarcastic.
I think of all the times I get frustrated when people tell me their bored but in this situation, I totally am and think it's okay for me to whine about it. Because I said so. Because I'm bored and I feel like whining.

Burn Out
I've been suffering a huge amount of burn out lately. I think I've kvetched about that expression before and I can't believe I'm resorting to it, but I am. I'm saying I'm burn out and I am burn out.
I would like to blame this weather. We're having super unseasonably warms temps here in the Midwest. We are usually very cold right now and most of the time in mid March we have snow up to our keisters. I love this weather and the last place I want to be is at work. i have no windows; I'm not even near a window. I know there are other jobs with no windows so this isn't really a big deal but I think I just want to be in the 80 degree weather while I can.
But if I'm really honest, I'm burn out on work. I love the job and books and most of the students and the ability to be creative and basically run my own department but I am so tired. I'm tired of constantly worrying about money and getting sick since I have no insurance. I'm tired of the high maintenance kids at this school. I'm just done.
I know that's lame but I just can't seem to shake this feeling. Sometimes I take a couple days away to clear my head and I come back all ready to go and that hasn't happened for a long time. I dread getting out of bed- and NOT just because I'm not a morning person- but because I don't want to do this anymore or come here any more.
Ugh, sorry to be such a whiner. Maybe I'd be better off if it snowed 3 feet!
NOT!

The library computer system network & my day
Well, I guess I should come out and say it: my library software seems to be working. I'm afraid to admit that because I don't want the technology gods to smite me and the computer down in the morning.
Today I had a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng day. The only data I lost was one day's worth but it was the day all the classes had 'library day' so all books checked in and out on that Tuesday was lost. So about 200 transactions were lost.
So, today I went class to class and asked each kid for his or her library books. Lots had books with them or in their lockers and I took those. Then I pulled a fast one on the kids who told me they left them in their residential halls. I played dumb and said, "Well, I don't have a list or a computer in front of me. What are the titles of the books you have out?" and I wrote them down.
Then after I did that, I returned all the books I collected, which was about 150 items. Then I ran an "items out list" and went to the shelves. I went through the list and found about 60 tomes and checked all those in.
Then we put all those books away.
Then I ran another "items out list" and checked it against what the kids said they had out. I found 2 errors of books being checked out that no one claimed. I marked those as lost in the computer and checked all the books out to the kids who said they had them.
I then emailed all the residential parents and asked them to check the halls for random books. Then I emailed specific res parents to tell them what each kid had out and asked them to send the books back with the students either after school today or first thing in the morning.
I also planned this week's art club, went to a staff meeting, entered 11 new students in my patron data base, processed 12 new magazines and replaced 4 days of old newspapers with new newspapers, supervised after school t-shirt painting and unpacked 3 shipments of NEW BOOKS, which was the best part of my day.
Whew!!!!!!!!!!! I'm tired.
And this thing better work in the morning or I'm quitting my job and joining the circus or the Peace Corps, whomever takes me first.

No wonder I'm tired
Lately I wonder what's the point. I work 5 jobs and I don't make enough to pay my own rent and I don't have health insurance.
I'm single... basically.
Mac's a mess, mostly.
I'm not getting any interviews even though I apply for a job a day, if not more.
I'm so frustrated. Mac wonders how I can go on daily since I'm not accomplishing anything. And while that sounds harsh, there's some reality in that. I hate it when I agree with him on stuff like this.
I'm so tired. I was thinking about my week. I color coded my calender in Microsoft Office. I colored anything that was NOT related to my library job but that I still did during the course of my work day. I never should've done that. 80% of my week was NOT library. I rushed around doing all sorts of stuff: supervision of locker room, subbing, covering classes for IEP meetings, doing standardized reading testing, going to other meetings, art club stuff... the list seems to go on and on. No wonder I'm so tired when I get home at night, at the end of a week.
And I might still get called to sub on Friday. And I work my receptionist job Friday night, to fill in for someone else. And I'm photographing a dance Saturday night.
I'm 40, broke and really tired.
Maybe I just have PMS...

I don't know why I'm so tired
I am soooooooooooo tired. OMG, I am so tired. Every muscle in my body hurts. I'm often pretty tired on Mondays but not this exhausted. And yeah, I know this isn't a Monday but it might as well be MY Monday since yesterday we didn't have any school with students.
Back when I was teaching in the Wild West I would actually fall asleep sitting straight on my couch, usually with a book in one hand and the remote control in the other. Just awake watching TV or reading one moment and then next my head bobs and it's been 3 hours. I would feel like I had run a marathon or something exhausting.
I feel like that again today, even though it's been awhile since I've felt that wiped out but today is that day. It's the sort of tired that just seeps into my bones. I rolled my shoulders and everything popped and cracked. I laid my head back on the couch and could feel the muscles stretch out.
Part of it, I think, is the deep deep cold we had today. It was about 20 degrees today and really windy. We are also not heating the hallways at school so it just gets cold and stays that way. I am just so very cold and so tired.
Here's the kicker--- I didn't do a damn thing all day today that could be deemed exhausting or that tiring. I sat at my computer and I did bunch of paperwork. I handled a bunch of phone calls and did some research. I had to 'babysit' a group of new boy students this morning and test them, and then I had the new group of girls in the afternoon but that isn't what I would call strenuous. So in all honesty I can believe I'm this bone tired.
Maybe because it's the first day back to school after a 17 day Christmas vacation? Of having to be "on" for the kids?
And unfortunately I can't crash like I used to back in the Wild West. I would go go go all week long and then on Friday I'd be asleep by 5pm and do nothing by cat nap and watch TV and then hit it again on Monday. I can't be a lounging bum this weekend because it's my weekend to work my OTHER job.
But tonight I'm giving serious thought to going to sleep around 8pm... I could get about 10 hours of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzs that way.........

Can't shake the blahs
Yesterday I wrote about not knowing where all my time went this week.
And I have to say, I need some time to breathe.
I don't know what's going on with me lately but I just feel like I need some time to ... to myself. This sounds totally bitchy, I know, after coming off a month long break but for some reason, I've felt overwhelmed lately.
There's been turmoil with Mac, leaving for school. It hasn't been pleasant and I feel turned in so many topsy-turvy ways because of this.
I also feel all consumed by work when I go home at night. I worry about the kids, about a new program I've been put in charge of, about testing the kids, and anything else about work I can seem to worry about.
For some reason I can't even seem to convey here what I mean to say. I just know I can't seem to settle my brain and I feel completely not at ease, or full of unease.
Am I just unhappy? Someone suggested I'm depressed. I am tired all the time, it seems, for no good reason, even when I get tons and tons of sleep.
I don't often feel like this, so full of drudgery. I don't really want to read, craft, talk, clean, write, cook, do laundry, hang out... I just don't want to do anything, really.
Ugh, I hate feeling so blah, so tired, so uneasy, so no time to myself.
Whining once again,
Maggie

Computer suckage
I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last blogged. I have no idea what happened. Actually, I do know what happened and I'm so sorry. After a month of vacation and then going back to work, and getting off work at 4pm and home by 430pm, my day feels shot. Getting back into the groove to cook and clean in just a few evening hours and then having time to blog doesn't seem to be jiving.
My other big issue is that my laptop seems to be dying a slow death. It can be one for 10 minutes then shut itself off. It can be on for an hour before it does. No one seems to know what's wrong. So all the evenings when I would crash on the couch and grab my trust steed of a laptop are now gone. I have no money to replace my trusty steed so now I have to... well, to hell with the analogy- I can't easily blog.
And that SUCKS!!!!!!!!
I've vowed that since it's my weekend to be the receptionist at job number 3, I'm going to write several post and get them scheduled.
The other part that sucks about the slow demise of trusty steed is that I can't easily respond to lengthy emails nor can I read blogs at my leisure. Ugh! I have no idea how I'm going to resolve this issue!!! Steal a laptop, maybe?
Other than computer issues and trying to get my back to school groove on, I'm also trying to get Mac ready for school, which emotionally seems draining. In all honesty, other than being exhausted at the end of a work day and feeling like doing nothing except be a slug, I'm really not sure where my week went...
I vow to do better. I said that last week, I know.
Maybe this time it'll actually happen!

Just a few more days and I can sleep and sleep and sleep...
I'm meeting myself coming and going. I can barely think straight.
I promised Mac he and I would have mom and Mac time, just the two of just. And he decided this is the week that is to occur. It must be the "senior" thing because he was throwing a fit until I committed. So............
Monday:
Got up an hour early for school because I had to be there early because of an athletic award program. Went to school early. Went to program. Worked at school to teach AND run the library. Graded stuff. Got roped into filling in for the night receptionist at my weekend job (I told the boss I would cover if the lady was still sick. That was LAST week. She was still sick. I'm stooopid.) Worked that job until 10pm. Came home and did 2 loads of laundry. Argued with Mac because I was supposed to have "our time" on Monday but explained to him why I HAD to work. Did dishes. Picked out 100 pictures for his open house grad party. Worry about needing to make slide show. Slight relief when ITSam volunteered to make slide show. Fell into bed sometime after 1 am.
Tuesday:
Worked at school to teach and run the library. Gave up on grades and attempting to teach kids who are either going home for good tomorrow so they don't care about school or angry kids who are not going home, and showed a movie. Made some business calls. Made a shopping list of what I need to get for Mac's graduation. Made phone calls about stuff for Mac's graduation open house. Discovered Mac's shorts for open house don't fit and need to be returned to JC Penney's. Went to dinner with Mac. Laughed & made fun of Mac because waiter thought I was his girlfriend, not his mom. Saw a movie with Mac. Went to Wal-Mart and stood in line behind 4 people because only 1 lane was open and I only had 1 item. Came home. Did laundry. Confirmed Mac senior picture order while I cleaned bathroom. Had a cleaning boo-boo in bathroom (daddy-), don't ask). Cleaned kitchen and dining room. Fell into bed sometime after midnight-thirty.
Wednesday:
Got up 90 minutes early because I had to be at school for academic awards program and in my haste of trying to do 2 jobs yesterday I forgot to run my report for the program of reading stats. Went to school 1 hour early to run report. Copier broken and have to hand write report. Pissed. Burned mouth on coffee. More pissed. Got to awards. Have all 6 class periods shortened for the day because of program and afternoon graduation. Leave work. Get gift for baby shower tomorrow. Drop off illegally procured music to friend for HER graduation ceremony at her school that she's in charge of. Come home. Clean living room. Pick up 22 pair of shoes from beside front door. Do more laundry. Help ITSam fix bathroom boo-boo from last night. Confirm Mac has all his chores done. Buy stuff for graduation open house. Buy gift bags for baby shower. Give up on having enough energy to fix dinner and drive thru McDonalds. Eat. Text brother because had panic attack that I was supposed to get Daddy-O at the airport tomorrow and had forgotten. Breathed because Bro is getting Daddy-O. Write this blog post. Plan on wrapping shower gifts. Plan on scanning pictures to finish slide show for Mac's open house. Plan on coloring my hair. Plan on sleeping.
I so want this week to end. I'm exhausted. I cannot remember ever being this tired. I really can't. I am so glad that Daddy-O is coming home because 1) I missed him; 2) he's calming; and, 3) I'm hoping he'll help with small stuff because things are more fun with him and two heads and hands are so much better.
I need more than Calgon.............

I bit off way more than I can chew.... I think
There's a woman (an English teacher) at work who is adopting her first child after waiting on a list for over 3 years. Her baby is going to be born this coming week and the birth mother has to have a C-Section.
About 6 weeks ago the teacher asked me if I could cover her classes it she had to take time off at the end of the school year for the baby. I said I would if the administration would agree. It was six weeks ago when I didn't really think and consider the reality of that situation. Ugh!
The reality starts tomorrow. I will be doing double duty- library and teaching. I don't have to have the library open during the times I teach but I still will have to take care of returned books, put them away and nag/ hound/ the students to return their books before the end of the school year. I have to do the bare minimum but it still has to be done. So the library will be open one period a day- during her prep. Then I'll teach the other 5. Then I can finish loose library ends at the end of the day before I go home.
So for the next two weeks:
I drove the transport from Hell on Friday. I have to do the Part two this afternoon (they won't fire me on a weekend because there's no one around to recruit another driver). Then the next 5 days I'm the librarian and teacher. Next weekend is my weekend to be the receptionist on Friday and Saturday nights. I have Sunday off. You know "off" so I can do laundry, grocery shop, clean... Then Monday- Wednesday is more teaching and library AND my school's graduation. Thursday is a teacher day so I can get caught up on library and finish up the teaching stuff like grades. That Friday is Mac's graduation and the Sunday after that is his party.
I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to do my job, grade papers, clean the house before Daddy-O gets home, get Mac's open house ready to go and ALSO do regular stuff like laundry and grocery shopping.
Sometimes I think I'm just stupid.
I know I'll get through it but it just feels overwhelming to think about it.

Tired, tired, tired
How is it that I can't get enough hours in the day to make my world go around?
I drove to the southern part of my state to pick up some kids who got a home pass visit. I get paid to make this trip. I got to bring Princess along to ride shotgun. It was almost 60 degrees. The sun was out. The girls were all awesome. I had a good car to drive. We rocked it out to Lady Gaga on the way home. We laughed and giggled lots.
But we left at 745am and arrived home at 5pm. I took Princess to get picture prints made so we can scrapbook on Wednesday. Then Mac and Princess went to church youth group together. I had to stay the entire time, because of Alcatraz rules. (I waited in the car for 2 hours) Then I took her home, got pizza, saw my Bro & SisIL then finally made it home to eat, blog, do a load of laundry and watch some Grammys (which suck). I just sat down; I even stood up to eat dinner and it's just now 9:55pm.
I love all the time with Princess.
I am soooooooooooooo tired.
Love,
Maggie

Where did the time go?
Here's the deal. I forgot to blog. Well, let me clarify. I didn't forget I just kept running out of time.
Curly and I went out together and got caught up since we hadn't been together for months. We had lunch, coffee, shopping and a bookstore visit.
After I dropped her off, I met ITSam and we went to Northern Civilization for a Valentine's date. We hit Best Buy for stuff for dad, and then a bookstore, the bakery and then dinner. After that we went to a chocolate shoppe for dessert then home.
It's late and I suddenly thought I didn't have a post written and scheduled to post. I sat down to write one now and I can't think of a thing. I also don't have the brain power to write anything thoughtful even thought I have some really good ideas.
I thought I would write about one of my 40 for 40 items but it's going to involve pictures.
I could write about dinner late night but I don't have the energy to form coherent, angry sentences.
So, I'll be posting this post about why I'm posting a crappy post about nothing.
And I don't promise that tomorrow will be much better because I'm driving a transport and leaving early and arriving home late. But I'll try.
Upcoming posts will feature:

Busy busy busy!
I've been so busy! I know it's partially the time of year, but I feel like I'm super busy even when not doing holiday stuff.
This week alone I've had Mac's choir concert and tonight is his band concert. I had to sort all the Alcatraz Prom pictures with the photographer last night. Monday night I helped ITSam- he needed a ride to his son's band concert so I did that ('tis the season to be nice, right?). Something every night this week!
Friday we're going to help Daddy-O decorate the rest of the house for Christmas. I committed to working an extra secretary shift over the weekend. I promised to take Princess Christmas shopping Sunday, which is a good thing since I haven't bought a single gift! (Thank goodness I have a list of what I want to get!). XRay Girl wants to have dinner one night this week, I haven't seen Curly socially in a month, and I only could see Princess for 2 hours the other night.
Additionally, I promised Mac to help him with a HUGE paper that's due tomorrow and he wants to get some serious extra credit in Spanish class so he needs to MAKE a pinata. Are you kidding? I offered to just buy one, but that's not allowed. I told him to ask Daddy-O for help since that's an art project.
Add to this a new job and then working extra as my "peripheral" jobs... ugh. I've been so very tired. I've been trying to make hats for the Alcatraz kids (with the help of my elves, thank you very much!), blog, read blogs, read books, relax, hang with friends and there's no time for anything. I'm really not complaining; I just feel so overwhelmed. I actually went to bed last night at 8:20pm.
The purpose of this post was originally two fold- to just say thanks to everyone who is reading me (and voting for me as one of the top blogs- please keep voting!) and to tell you that I'll be back to reading soon... maybe over Christmas break?
I could also preview a few other upcoming posts: Christmas food, my 40 things to do before I'm 40 (PLEASE more ideas needed!!!!) my new job, kiwi fruit debate, and the Christmas swap.
I do miss you!

Tiredly rambling
I was going to say that I don't remember teaching being this exhausting. But that would be a lie. What I remember is that teaching is exhausting the first couple of weeks, but I remember being able to go back to my own house and collapsing each night. I didn't have to entertain a boyfriend. Maybe I should say that I don't remember relationships being this exhausting?
No, really, I'm trying to find a way to juggle it all.
I think teaching at Alcatraz is more stressful, at times, than a regular high school, because of all the rules the kids have to follow and I feel I'm on hyper vigilant mode making sure everything is followed. I've also amped up my energy level so I run on super enthusiastic mode for the entire day because these kids need some positive energy their way. The kids are also prone to fighting, screaming, and creating a hostile, volatile situation at the drop of a hat- and since the kids live with each other they know how to push each other's buttons to make them go nuts- especially the girls. So things can go from hum-drum to critical mass in about 4 seconds, so I'm all the time tense, waiting to making sure nothing bad happens on my watch.
I really like my kids and my classes. I do. I also realize I'm investing lots of time and energy into something that's only temporary but I do LIKE this job and it's just part of my weird personality.
I'm planning on working in my classroom something weekend and then I think as far as weekends go, I should be do with that. I think.
Oh, and I got that second job!!! Every third weekend I'm working as an evening receptionist on Friday and Saturday nights. Not bad money and pretty easy, for the most part. I'll even have time to grade or read or surf the 'net. I was told by the woman who hired me that it's only crazy if a kid runs away. All I can say is PLEASE DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN ON MY WEEKEND! I had a night of training last night and will have two more nights of that next weekend.
So here it is on a Saturday. It's dark and rainy and dreary outside. I'm thinking of not moving from this seat unless it's to lay down and shape into a form of a nap. ITSam has Jack this weekend and I'm thinking how great it would be for them to just have "alone" time today. We can all gather for supper or play games or something later on, right? And I can be a slug for a few hours, doing nothing but catching up on blogs, reading, and napping.
Or I might get a wild hair and just decide to take myself to a movie, all alone, and see eat, pray, love. Or work at school. Or all of the above.
I've never been so happy for a weekend in all my life.

No rest for the weary
I. am. so. tired.
Usually, the first weekend after school starts, I have a routine. In the past, the routine has me come home from school on Friday and put on my pajamas. I take a nap on the couch and when I wake up I order pizza to be delivered. Then I lay on the couch and eat pizza and watch movies until I fall asleep. I repeat this cycle until mid afternoon on Sunday. I may not order another pizza but just eat the leftovers from Friday. I may or may not drink. I may or may not shower. I may or may not answer the phone. Sometimes I read books for fun, but usually I stared at mindless television in between the catnaps. Usually, the general gist of the entire weekend is to just sleep, wake up to pee or eat and then sleep some more.
I didn't indulge in my sloth-fullness this weekend. For several reasons.
First, I had errands to run on Friday and then ITSam wanted to go to Northern Civilization to try on more rings and to take me to dinner since I had a long week.
Saturday I did sleep in but I promised Mac to take him to see Scott Pilgrim, which we did. And I had work to do at school. I just didn't feel prepared for Monday AND I had grading AND I the women whose class I'm covering didn't fill her book cases or make bulletin boards. She also didn't let me use her stuff so my room is one huge BLANK. I had to do something to fix that. So, after the movie I worked in my classroom for about 3 hours. Then I had dinner with ITSam, XRayGirl and her hubby. I was still at home and in bed by 11:30pm.
But here I sit, after 9 1/2 hours of sleep and I am still tired and just want to go back to bed. BUT!!! I still have some grading to do. I also have to prep for tomorrow. Sam wants to see The Expendables. (And so do I)
Maybe I'll be a sloth next weekend. ITSam will have Jack so I could indulge in being lazy... well, I probably won't because I live with Daddy-O and being a sloth with another person just loses something of the pleasure.
Off to the salt mines!

The Monday Exhaustions
I have no idea why I am so tired every. single. Monday. I come home from work and can barely keep my eyes open. I might even grab a cat nap but I still can't manage to think straight and want to be in bed by 7:30 pm. What is this? I've been suffering from this ever since I started teaching in the Wild West, even in the summer time, I have the Monday Tireds.
I slept okay last night. It took awhile for me to fall asleep but once I did I wasn't waking up in the night. I slept right until my alarm clock went off. Today wasn't stressful at work; we watched a movie in each class. Big whoot- I just had to make just the kids didn't sleep and that I didn't fall asleep.
After school I had to take mac to the doctor and then we went on a mini road trip (after running errands) and went to the mall and got McDonalds and stuff. I even participated in some stimulating conversations but the whole time I could barely keep my eyes open.
And here I sit thinking I need to blog but I want to sleep... so here's some randomness:

And here I sit thinking I need to blog but I want to sleep... so here's some randomness:
- Can I wear wigs? Lady Gaga does it so why can't I just wear it right into the public sector? I could have lots of fun with it. And since I hate my hair it would be cool for me. And I could change my color and style with my mood.
- I think it is one of the coolest thing ever that the new Rock Band 3 is going to come out with a REAL guitar with its game. That's awesome. It'll have strings rather than buttons. I am psyched about it. I secretly have a fetish for the Rock Band games (though I guess as of this post it's no longer a secret). I like to sing and play the guitar, though I'm not talented enough to do both.
- Today was humorous and stressful because I had to explain the concept and purpose of a suppository use to Mac. He is not impressed.
- Big Bang Theory is the best show on television and I love to watch even the re-runs.
- I go with Mac to the Game Stop store and the guys there flirt with me. They are often guys who are my age, but are gamers. It's like talking to a grown up version of a teenage boy. Talking to Mac is more mentally stimulating. And they think they're so "cool." If they were like the guys on the aforementioned Big Bang Theory, then I would be much more impressed.
- I bought Gerber Daisies this weekend and planted them. Yes, I am attempting to nurture a living thing in plant form. Wish me luck. They're yellow, orange and bright pink (of course!)
- Waiting for the toilet tank to refill is like waiting for a pot of water to boil. I'm just sayin'...
- Mac is trying to find a job- still- and everywhere he goes he's told they only hire 18 years old (or older) people. Makes it tough on a kid to find a job.
- A tree fell down over the weekend. It was in the neighbor's yard. It didn't hurt anything but it did cover the street and the street department had to come out and chop it up enough and move it to the tree lawn so cars could pass. I think it's the first time I ever saw 1 street guy working and doing his job WITHOUT 4 or 7 or 9 other standing around, watching.
- I bought more books. And... oh hell, this is a long enough thought that I'll save it for a post. But saving bought books is like only using the good china on a holiday. More on that later!

Brain freeze
I had about 389 ideas for posts for today, as I was writing this last night, but for the life of me, I can't think of one of them. I'm so tired, I guess. I had a few funny stories about... stuff, I think.
On Thursday evening:
The whole fam-damily arrived from Texas. We went to meet the Nephew. I had a minor computer issue that figured itself out. I worried about the birth of the baby. This was a day of special education students taking final exams (using the DUMBEST exam schedules in the history of schedules). I had to clean the kitchen, do a load of laundry, and make up the bed for the guests. I've worried because of a friend of mine is angry with me (he's giving me the silent treatment... nice) and is now ignoring me. Mac made plans and left the house, then changed his plans and left again. We went out to dinner. I returned library books. I have a new job lead that's going to require some fast re-doing of the resume.
Lemme think; I'm sure I can do better than this later today. And if not... well, there's always tomorrow!

I'm alive, well and kickin'... and tired
I. am. exhausted.
I started my new job with the special ed kids this weeks.
Mac moved in with Daddy-O and me for time period unknown.
The weather turned cold and within 48 hours we had snow, rain, ice, sleet, fog, winds gusting up to 30 mph, and sunshine.
I also worked at the insurance office and went to Mac's choir concert. I saw the live Broadway show Annie, graded papers, wrote lesson plans, did some laundry, Christmas shopped, cooked, did dishes, and I think there was some other stuff.
I gave myself permission to not blog yesterday (thank you bragger for this encouragement!); and I've given myself permission to write this week ass blog post.
My plan tomorrow is to try and catch up on all things blog. I've missed reading everyone (though I've read some of my favorites but I didn't take time to comment, sorry!) and I've missed writing. I do have so much to tell you! And also tomorrow, in addition to all things blog, I want to answer emails, wrap gifts, finish the laundry, bake Christmas cookies, see a movie, clean my room, re-arrange furniture, take Mac for a haircut, and finish decorating my pink Christmas tree. Writing it all down makes me tired.
So good night and see you tomorrow!
Maggie Mae

And also tomorrow, in addition to all things blog, I want to answer emails, wrap gifts, finish the laundry, bake Christmas cookies, see a movie, clean my room, re-arrange furniture, take Mac for a haircut, and finish decorating my pink Christmas tree. Writing it all down makes me tired.
So good night and see you tomorrow!
