This snow day could turn into a snow week...

Today we were blessed with a SNOW DAY! Though this one worries me just a tiny bit since our local weather dudes are predicting up to 20 inches of snow, and high winds. We are also under a 'blizzard warning' until 7pm WEDNESDAY night- predicting 16 hours of snow fall... And yes, I wrote the right day since today IS Tuesday and it is 9:30 am!

From where I sit, safely on the couch looking out a window, it's really snowing hard. And steady.

But I'm still not complaining because I have a HUGE pile of BOOKS I want to read. The sort of pile that looks so good you don't know where to start?!? Well, in about a half hour I plan on reading and drinking coffee. That's all. Okay.... maybe checking my email but otherwise, that's it!

If it keeps this up, we could still be going to school in July to make up days missed. UGH! Thank the literary gods for good books. And, again, I might have spent $$$ foolishly in my lifetime, but installing the new fireplace was certainly money well spent. Back to the coffee, book and fireside.

I too am home today. But also the 2 boys are home with me. Alas, as long as they stay in their rooms, all is quiet. Crocheting passes the time.

Hi again,

I was going to ask how you keep warm if you lose power but Daddy-O answered me.

Do you lose power a lot?

A lot of blogs that I read have posted pictures.

Six words.

Holy shit. How do you deal?

Snow day! Yay. Wish we had those here...

JE- I've enjoyed the fireplace, too. And my big pile of books. Think we could get lucky enough to have another one tomorrow??

Curley- it sounds like a nice way to spend the day!

Sam/P- we just...cope. Not much else that we can do, ya know? The plan is to just plan, get supplies like batteries for flashlights, food, etc, and then plan on staying in. We are very lucky where I live that we don't often have power outages (I almost hate to say that, like tempting fate). Daddy-O's house is on the same power grid at the local hospital so when power does actually go out, we're fortunate because we get power restored fairly quickly. It's actually rather pleasant, really, in a way. You should come visit! ;)

Cheryl- I'd be happy to share the snow...

Really, kind of pleasant? Really??
I am so not prepared for a life in the northern hemisphere. I mean. Snow. Like actually real snow? That falls out of the sky. And sticks. And has to be shoveled (cutting in to my snowman making time, clearly). And comes in blizzards. With power outages when it's minus a million degrees...

Yeah, I am definitely not ready for this. I'm just going to go and stand in the hot sun for an hour.
