Foot fetish week, it's not

But I thought I would show you some really cute shoes I got for Christmas and have been dying to wear-- but the weather won't cooperate (and I don't really think I could wear these to school!) Now, I realize if I had a nice beau to take me to the theatre or the ballet, I would most certainly wear these!

Or! Maybe I'll just take myself to a show and wear them, especially since my sexy pedicured toes will be hidden under the sexy-ness!

Satchels and Shoes presents: shoes and a millinery

These are my Halloween flip-flops. I love these shoes, with their cute candy corns. I wore them for about three hours yesterday but then it was so cold, I needed read shoes. I hunted high and low for Halloween toe socks but couldn't find any locally- if I wanted them I was gonna have to order them but they wouldn't arrive before Halloween, darn it! (daddy-O and I found some super cute ones that were black, silver, orange and white striped knee toe socks on eBay but neither he nor I were smart enough to figure out paypal and stuff to make it work to order them, darn it!)

And I don't have a Halloween purse, though I could've just featured a black one- goddess know I have enough of them-, I thought it might be fun to share with you my Halloween hat I wore with the flip-flops (and I wore this when I answered the door to pass out candy to the kids). You know, keeping in the spirit of All Hallow's Eve.

Hope your night was spook-tacular!

Satchels & Shoes: The Replacements

I have a favorite pair of shoes that I love to wear in the fall/ spring/ winter time. They're lace up brown loafers with a chunky heel. I've had them for about... 10 years. The leather is cracked, the laces have been replaced so many times I've lost count, I had to put in Dr. Scholls Magellan Gellin' insoles in many times, and now the sole has a hole- the sort that if I step in a puddle or walk through damp grass I shall have to endure a wet sock for the duration. So these shoes should be retired.

Well, last spring, I did get a replacement pair. And I was excited because they were so close to my favorite shoe. I wore the replacement pair around for a few days, deemed them worthy, but I couldn't get rid of the old pair; I just bequeathed them space in the rear of my closet. Then I wore the replacements to Ireland. And I got blisters. I didn't get a little tiny baby blister but the sort of blister that... COVERED THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF MY FOOT!!!!!!!!!!! On BOTH feet- 1 on each heel and one on each 'ball' of my feet. And on the tops of my toes and the side of each pinky toe and on the back heel of my left foot. (These blisters actually left a sort of weird type of scarring on the bottoms of my feet in the form of discoloration of the skin in the blister shaped pattern that remains today) I was in utter misery because this happened on the first day of my trip to Dublin. I never wore the shoes again. I have no idea why I even lugged the bastards home from Europe because when I got here, I showed Daddy-O my feet, bought blister pads, and threw the offending footwear in the nearest Dumpster- And yes, I'm sure there was some starving person to whom I could've given these shoes but I would've felt terrible if my charity shoes ruined someone else's feet- what if I cursed them? Here's a picture of the offenders!

Okay, so today Daddy-O and I went shopping and lo- and behold- I got another replacement pair for the replacements. And these are Sketchers, which is what I should've bought in the first place rather then the cheap knock offs that about made my feet fall off- literally! I love love love my Sketcher tennise shoes so if these are even one tenth as comfortable and don't leave blisters, then they could be the perfect pair of casual shoes!

So there they are: the NEW replacements, part deux. And a cute green Nine & Co. bag.

The Sunday return of "Satchels & Shoes"!

I love muck boots but they're really expensive because they're made for mucking around the elements and they're warm as well as waterproof. I had a pink pair when I lived in the Wild West. When I left there, I gifted the boots on, not thinking I would need them here.

Well, I was an idiot!

But I think I found something a bit more my style. To heck with muck boots. I found rainboots! Aren't these the cutest things you've ever seen?!? I *adore* these boots. If I could think of a reason to have more than one pair, you know I would! I was shocked that Target had such a cute item.

And I love to pair it with my purple messenger bag!

Face Lift

I loved my old blog template, all the frills and pink and shoes and purses... but it was just not always practical. It was a simple 2 column template and I really needed more because I love putting stuff in the sidebar, but with only 2 columns- one of which was blog text- made it very long and rarely did anyone take the time to scroll down to see it all.

So I was telling my friend Hecate this, and lo and behold, the woman is fucking mir-ACLE worker- tickle me pink and call her Anne Sullivan- because she found a three column template still keeping with my shoes and purse theme. Not only is it zingy, but it's three columns, plus some extra! I have all that space in the sidebar, BUT I also have three columns across the bottom of my blog to put things! As Hecate says, it's like getting a brand new purse with all these wonderful little compartments! OMG - she is so right!

After she helped me operate on my blog, I mentioned how it would be completely perfect if the the sides could be pink rather than purple. And Miz Whiz Bang Super Genius that she is turned it pink for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh.My. Goddess- it's completely perfect! Just adorable for this season!

Now, I'm working on adding all my widgets back, which is time consuming. I did the easy ones first. And I've re-arranged them, moved them around until I'm finding a blend that works. I like having my reviews at the bottom, and I'm going to add a photo slide show there, which should be fun, at least for me! So, I do promise to have all of your blogs added back and linked in the next several days.

So hang around, have a Cosmo, buy some shoes- hell, buy me some shoes- and keep reading and watching!

And a HUGE super thank you thank you thank you to Hecate for glamming me UP! You rock girlfriend! Whoot Whoot!

Kisses,
Mags

Satchels & Shoes- I LOVE these boots!

I love these shorty black leather boots by Mudd. Even with that heel, they are super comfortable. I plan on wearing these all over Europe! Since London and Dublin are full of cobblestone I think I can be comfy and stylish in these suckers! I've even worn them to teach in all day long, and I feel great!

And just a chunky black bag with a shoulder strap.

Satchels & Shoes- new tennis shoes!

Okay, so I haven't owned a new pair of tennis shoes since I bought a pair of Reeboks in an outlet mall in Maine in July 2001. Daddy-O thought I should have new ones for my Ireland trip so he took me to a Shoe Carnival where they had a sale on Sketchers. I've never owned a pair before but I tried some on and... WOW! I think I could like tennis shoes. These feel like I have nothing on my feet. I also feel short. Everything I own has a heel.... this is cool.

Now I think this bag would look cute with the shoes. It's a little pink suede cosmetic bag with faux fur trim... I haven't ever carried it as a "purse" but I think it could be. And the pink goes well with my sneakers.

Satchels & Shoes- I long for summer

Some of my old flip-flops which have seen better days... but I think summer would be "better days." I'm so tired of being cold and I just want to grab my nothing little shoes, my straw bag, don a cap* and hit the beach!

*Please take special note of my PINK President Obama Inaugural cap! Yeah, a souvenir from Sam! Yeah he buys me presents!

Satchels & Shoes- Repeat!

While I have tons of shoes and bags and there is no reason for a repeat, I actually wore my Spectator Pumps today when I attended my niece's christening. And carried my favourite Vera Wang bag...

Satchels & Shoes- I know they don't match

This little plaid bag was in my possession the whole time, and I had forgotten. For Christmas Daddy-O gave me some shoes that match this bag perfectly! I should have paired them together for a photo op, but I forgot about the bag. I was unpacking my boxes of purses and ran across this adorable little bag. I know it doesn't match the shoes I have featured today, but I thought the bag was just too fine to not show it all to you!

I love these copper colored and tweed heels. They have laces and even side zippers. Aren't they just so cute? They can dress up a pair of jeans of look fabulous with dress clothes, including my chocolate colored pants.

Satchels & Shoes- these were supposed to be purple suede pumps but...

So my friend Curley, Daddy-O, and I went shopping and I wanted purple suede pumps. I have several outfits that purple suede pumps would be the perfect shoe to wear, but I couldn't find any. We looked high and low to no avail. Finally Curley and I went in the lat shoe store of the day; Daddy-O waited in the car. And I found these instead. I just couldn't resist! And I do have quite a few outfits these go with as well- I mean, black and white goes with just about everything! So I guess these are my "supposed to be purple suede pumps" shoes. I love the black and white, like high heeled "Spats" worn by Gangsters during the Roaring 20's, or most notably called Spectator Pumps for women, which have gone in and out of popularity since the 1950s. And I think the black silk ribbon for laces are just adorable!

(See the ribbon laces in this close up?)

Oh and the bag... another Liz Claiborne, in the basic black, of course. I'm a firm believer that a woman can never have enough black bags.

Satchels and Shoes- another Vera...

Hecate gave me this beautiful Vera Bradley bag for Christmas. She said since I officially live back in Civilization I need one. This is a stunner and I love the warm browns and pinks with the basket weave pattern- it's gorgeous! Thank you Hecate! And since I like to be casual, I got a new pair of brown lace ups. They're Sketcher knock offs called Mojos. Shoe Carnival specials for $16. I had a pair similar to these that I officially killed last week; I stepped into a puddle and had a wet sock, so that made it officially time for a new pair; these fit the need, the price, and the foot.

Introducing Satchels & Shoes Sunday

My new plaid shoes and my new Vera Wang bag...

Daddy-O gave me the Blackwatch Plaid heels with the peek-a-boo toes for Christmas and I cannot wait to wear them- maybe New Year's Eve or on my date next Saturday with "Sam" (he's taking me dinner and dancing...)? And the black Vera Wang bag... funny story about it: Daddy-O and I went to Kohls on Monday before Christmas and it was 50% off but I wouldn't buy it for myself that close to the holiday. The next day Hecate and I went shopping and it was still 50% off and I still didn't buy it. My grandmother of evil gave me $$$ so I bought this bag on Boxing Day and it was 60% off! BONUS!!!

Welcome to a new Sunday series....
