I hate that I think of great topics during the day and as soon as I sit down to blog, I can't remember a thing? I usually try to write myself a note but then I leave the note at work and can't remember it until I see if the next day and then forget again... well, you get my drifts.
What's worse is when I remember to bring the note home and I can't remember the details. I jotted one or 2 words and then I think "what hell was that supposed to be about?" It's all Greek. What was I going to say that I thought was blog worthy about "Pandas"? Hell, what even made me think that? So I think through the whole day trying to key in on the word Panda and draw nothing. Then I'm frustrated because I obviously had a good idea with Pandas but can't focus on something else because I'm concentrating so hard on Pandas that I can't come up with anything else.
Or my all time favorite idiot moment when it come to blog topics: I remember the topic and I sit down and start to write only to come up with about 1 paragraph. 1 very short paragraph. Okay, it seemed like a super idea to the point where I remembered it but I can't get anything else out of it. Nothing,. Nada. Zip. Zilch. The one paragraph blog post. yeah, right.
I swear I should have an entire blog dedicated to blog ideas gone awry. The ones that can't be developed or the single word or phrase that was once part of my brain that's gone. The single paragraph blog posts. Ugh!
Writer's Alzheimer's? Or just a blocked writer?

"This is a bawdy tale. Herein you will find gratuitous shagging, spanking, maiming, treason, and heretofore unexplored heights of vulgarity and profanity, as well as non-traditional grammar, split infinitives, and the odd wank. If that sort of thing bothers you, then gentle reader pass by, for we only endeavor to entertain, not to offend. That said, if that’s the sort of thing you think you might enjoy, then you have happened onto the perfect story!" ~ Christopher Moore, Fool

Journal prompt
I'm brain dead for a topic for today so I just googled journal writing prompts to see what I would get. On thing I hate, as a writer and as a teacher, is that all journaling topics are so personal and force self reflection. The times when I turn to a journal topic is when I don't want to be self reflective.
In all honesty, I had a GREAT day and then Mac had a shitty night at school and he talked about it with me. He wasn't mean or nasty to me (for once) just shared about his class experience which ten grew into a why he hates himself conversation. Or rather, he conversed and I listened and felt bad. So my super great day just feels so distant because my only child is so unhappy and miserable and I can do nothing to help him; his issues are greater than me.
So I turn to google to give me something NON Personal journal topics and instead find myself inundated with self reflective personal introspective junk.
In my last year of teaching I bought a fabulous book that was titled something like "Journal Topics for the Classroom that are not introspective nor personal." I loved that book. I know many of students hated being given a topic that forced them to share with me if they didn't want to. I tried variations and lots of things worked through the years but then I found this book and it was fun and different and creative. I got some great ideas and some great writings from my kids, too, which was the whole point. And until you teach high school and have kids write personal stuff to you, you haven't "lived" *Yes there's sarcasm there. Frankly. it was sometimes (often) scary to read student personal journals, especially when they decided to trust you. So I loved the book with its silly topics. And if I couldn't found that book right this second, I wouldn't pulled a topic out of it and wrote.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm, gee this whole post about not having a topic turned out to be a post. Has that sort of Seinfeld-esque quality to it, eh?
And here I thought I was going to resort to writing about the topic "are you afraid of the dark? Explain" Guess I can save that one for another day.

Writer's block sucks
I've been a blogging slacker these last few weeks. I've either not blogged until really late in the day or I've skipped days entirely. I don't like that. But I feel like my brain isn't producing topics, for some reason. I know that doesn't make lots of sense, but I just can't seem to formulate ideas worthy of blogging.
I swear Carrie Bradshaw is amazing for coming with a column all the time!
I'm not really bored of blogging; I still really enjoy it. It doesn't feel like a chore or something I MUST do rather than something I want to do.
It's not that I'm really busy. I could blog daily as far as my time goes. I do spend time with ITSam and friends and stuff like that but not to the extent where I don't have time to blog. Oh the occasional day has come up when I haven't had time because I leave early in the day and don't return until late in the evening. Those have been few and far between and typically I know it's going to happen in advance so I can plan a post.
Part of my problem could be I don't feel creative lately. I don't know why. It sure isn't that I'm stimulate intellectually by my job or anything. Maybe that's it? Since my brain is more stagnate I have less desire to write because I'm just becoming dumber? I used to be able to pull a post out of nothing and that just doesn't seem to happen.
Could it also be that I've become boring? I don't have funny dating stories to tell. Sam and I just hang around and don't do anything worth writing about. Nothing crazy or strange happens with I go out the girls. I don't spend much time drinking or in clubs. I don't have a lot of face time with the kids at school so I don't have lots of school stories. I think I've become boring, or less willing to torture my audience with the mundane.
It could also be that I feel like I do nothing but worry, bitch, piss, moan, and complain. I don't want to spill that into here any more than I already do, which is pretty damn often.
Maybe Sam and I should break up so I can blind date and have blog fodder.
Maybe I should move again so I have better blog fodder adventures.
Maybe I should get a new job with more money so I can afford to go do cool stuff for blog fodder.
I dunno...... maybe I've written all there is to write?

What can I say?
I feel I don't have much to blog about these days. I hate it when that comes around. I've been blogging long enough to know this is a phase. It doesn't always come at the same time of year for me but it does happen in phases where I don't have anything to say and my brain feels all dried up.
Right now I have a lot I could say but it's a litany of complaints.
There's also a bunch of stuff in my life that was up in the air and I hate writing cliff hanger posts when even I don't know the ending. I hate to "put it out there" and then not want to finish it up. Things with Princess and work have been hanging by a thread and I didn't know how it would go, but at least now I'm getting some answers. But it's been such an exhausting process I don't feel like I could write even a cohesive enough post to explain it all.
I feel like I could do post after post of random thoughts because I can't seem to eek out enough to make an entire post of anything.
I'm tired a lot lately and just feel disconnected with my world.
Sorry I'm such a lame blogger.
