Two issues

Issue 1:

During my second week of Weight Watchers, I gained .2 pounds. I did everything I was supposed to do, exercised, didn't cheat, ate the right foods, ate my veggies and fruit, cut back my sodium, drank tons of water and planned meals so I could spread my points out correctly and I still GAINED weight. That's bullshit and I hate it and feel crappy.

Issue 2:
My computer is still being operated upon but should be up and running tonight. I had to get a new hard drive and a new operating system. Then he cleaned the old hard drive and isolated the viruses/ Trojans/ malware and is slowly re-installing all of my pictures, documents and music. It took 4 hours to install my photos and about that long for the music. So, I should be up and ready to go again tonight and be able to blog from my own computer rather than doing it briefly on break here at work. Ugh!

Hey Maggie,

Do not get discouraged. You might have gained because of the excerise. Muscle weigh more than fat. Judge how your clothes feel. Sometimes scales are not your friend!!

Back in my day, Trojans kept something bad from happening when you didn't want it to. Now, Trojans are something bad happening when you don't want it to. Go figure! I'm just sayin'...

I know it's discouraging. Sometimes the effects are delayed, though, so don't give up! I'm rooting for you. (At first I typed "I'm rotting for you." Glad I caught that one!)

If you're eating the proper things and excersising, you may have lost some fatty tissue and replaced it with muscle (which is quite dense by comparison).

Computers are a pain in the butt.

Chin-up. You've got this ; )

For some people if they only eat their daily points and don't tap into the weekly points they don't lose as much. I'm not saying eat all the weekly points, but tap into them a bit more than what you did last week. And see if that helps.

Don't give up. If I can do it, anyone can do it!

Sam's right - it may be that the increased exercising is creating more muscle, which is denser. Soon you'll see the pounds melt off. A friend of mine is doing Weight Watchers, and she gained a little at the beginning too, but then lost quite a bit of weight. If I remember right, her average was about 3 pounds per week.

Keep persevering with the WW! We're all different and it takes us each different diets and exercise regimes to see big success, plus it's not an overnight thing. That said, I am pretty sure that bitching about it is an effective approach, too. Or at least it can't hurt :)
