I said I was gonna be lazy today and I meant it. I slept in until 10am. I sat on the porch drinking coffee.
I was called to sub 8 times and let the phone go to voice mail, and the boss of my weekend receptionist job called me to see if I wanted extra hours and I said no.
I watched a little television and read a little.
It was so nice to just veg out. I went out for dinner and watched a movie, The Vow (which was terribly disappointing). I even had a "Skinny Bee" Margarita, which is about 100 calories so I had the warm fuzzies.
What a great day! I'd like a few hundred more of them!

"This is a bawdy tale. Herein you will find gratuitous shagging, spanking, maiming, treason, and heretofore unexplored heights of vulgarity and profanity, as well as non-traditional grammar, split infinitives, and the odd wank. If that sort of thing bothers you, then gentle reader pass by, for we only endeavor to entertain, not to offend. That said, if that’s the sort of thing you think you might enjoy, then you have happened onto the perfect story!" ~ Christopher Moore, Fool

Come on FRIDAY!
After working all those hours I am so tired. I worked all those days in a row doing both jobs and am now working just my normal library job and I am so exhausted. I know it's my own fault. But I am so tired.
I'm having a shake party tonight- if I can get three people to sign up then mine's free! And tomorrow is a reading club party and Thursday is a scrapbook class and dinner with Lilith, and last night was art club. I did this to myself, I know.
This weekend I'm doing nothing.
I'm NOT working Friday. I've turned down subbing jobs already and I plan to just be a worthless layabout.
I'm due!

And that's all the randomness that's fit to print
I should've done posts called "25 days of Christmas socks" since I have enough to wear a pair for 25 days.
I think the new Chocolate diamonds are ugly. There. I said it. I think they look brown, dirty and cheap rather than elegant. Nasty.
I'm obsessed with the TV show Criminal Minds. I can kill you in about 50 ways and never get caught. Other than the fact blood is icky. I wish Cold Case and Without a Trace reruns were on here.
How lazy am I that I bought a fudge making kit rather than all the separate ingredients? All the stuff came in one box, with a pan. It's supposed to make 1.5 pounds. I thought a kit to allow me to make that much fudge at once is a good thing.
There's a student, a young man, who works with me in the library in the mornings. I want to give him a little Christmas gift. Any ideas? We have so many regulations I'm at a loss. I might just email his case worker to see if he has any suggestions. Cologne?
I organized a cookie swap at work. Seven people other than me agreed so I'll come home on Thursday with 7 dozen different types of cookies. I think I'm going to make 'Snowball Surprises.' These are a mildly sweet dough cookie with a Hershey kiss inside. YUM!
Speaking of cookies, the first week of my Christmas break I'm going to bake- cut out cookies are first on the list. And I'm going to try cranberry bread. And maybe make some mini whoopie pies.
Speaking of Christmas break, I have some serious shopping left--- but that's for a different post!
I had nothing to do this whole weekend. No solid plans where I was expected to be anywhere. I didn't even get called to sub on Friday so I basically slept and watched TV for the last 2 days. I haven't the concentration or patience to read or craft so I just camped in front of the TV and watched a bunch of TV. I haven't even tried to focus on a movie.
It was cold today. It never got above 25 degrees. Since I lived in the Wild West, I could say that's really not a big deal but it felt cold to me. The house was warm and comfy but I just felt cold which seems silly.
Mac saw the commercial for wateraid.org and he associated it with bad water in Africa. And he's decided I'm going to get dysentery if I go to Africa, and die, unless of course I get kidnapped, raped and killed by the freedom fighters first. Ugh!

Surprise festival, and a lazy weekend
This weekend there was a really neat free craft at Archiver's and I just 'had' to go. I made a free page and a free card. It involved sewing. By hand. On paper. It's a cool concept and has neat tools to make this happen but it was sewing. On paper! By hand! Let's just say I did it this one time and if I were to ever do it again, it would not be all the way across a 12x12 piece of paper. Maybe 2 inches, but not 12!!! See the holes on the left? I used thread and followed that pattern all the way down the page. But it was fun, and free! And Archiver's is a great store with so many wonderful ideas! I love to take pictures of their crafts and samples so I can try and re-create stuff!
We then found a festival in downtown Northern Civilization. When I lived there I knew about all the festivals and activities going on all over the city, all the time, concerts, displays, anything that there was to do, I was in the know. The Chamber of Commerce should've hired me! Since I don't live there, I'm never sure of what's happening so it was a pleasant surprise to run across a small faire and food tasting event. The faire was all about the Arts around the city with demonstration from the Civic theater to ballet to belly-dancing classes to South African drumming to museums to galleries- anything that had to do with arts or fine arts, had a booth or display or demonstration or performance. It was pretty amazing to walk around and talk to the folks involved, see the displays and watch performances either at the booths or on the three different stage areas. Then the fundraising part was food. Attendees could buy tickets and then go to any for the 30+ local food booths to eat. All food booths were local restaurants, not chains. It was wonderful! Cheesecakes, micro-brewed beers, ribs, gazpacho... so much to choose from. A foodie's dream come true!
It was such a beautiful day, not too hat, perfectly blue skies and sun and a wonderful time.
I love to find things like that around the city. Makes me miss living there even more than I already do! A little magic in the heart of the city! What a fun way to spend a lazy Saturday!
And speaking of lazy... lazy spilled over into Sunday. The weather was gorgeous so we opened up the house. I don't think it got any warmer than 70 degrees. I was a totally lazy bum and just laid around in my pj's all day, watching the box set of season 2 of Mad Men (one of the best shows on TV- how did I miss this all these years???). I ate cold roast chicken and warm rolls out of the container. I refrained from taking a nap, but barely. I read and watched and just was lazy, moving from one piece of furniture to another to keep from sleeping. But I didn't run around the house working or around town, play on the 'net, talk on the phone all day (one call with Curley!), text or anything. I just was a totally worthless layabout. I didn't even do laundry, which I feel like I do all the time. I just 'was'!
It was a fabulous weekend.... Can't believe I have to end it all and go back to work...

On my day off, or 22. Take a day to do nothing but lay around in my jammies, reading, be lazy, and eating junk food
Daddy-O's in the Lone Star State and Mac is on the senior trip and won't be back until midnight. I had the day off from school- an unused snow day. I had the house all to myself. Alone. In the house. By myself. I think for the first time in years................
Here's what I did:
Maggie
Here's what I did:
- woke up late
- texted Sam
- made coffee
- danced around the living room, and sang in my hairbrush to Lady Gaga
- made cinnamon rolls
- laid upsidedown on the couch and floor and read a book
- finished the book
- finished the coffee
- finished the cinnamon rolls
- blogged about the book I finished
- enjoyed the quiet by just staring at the ceiling in silence
- played Genetic Alchemy on my cell phone
- played Worddrop on my cell phone
- talked to Sam
- took a shower around 7pm
- ate dinner with Sam
- started reading another book, back in my jammies, sprawled across the couch, drinking a large bottle of wine, out of glass
- thinking about eating a Dove Ice Cream Bar- not on the couch, though...
- thinking if I have enough cash to pay off Mac to go away for the day so I can do this again

Worthless Layabout that I am
I feel almost sinful for what I did last night. The only thing that would've made it better is if someone would've let me eat an entire pan of gooey brownies.
I got home from work/ school at 4pm. I put on my jammies and sat on my butt on the couch. Daddy-O and Mac fixed an early supper, which I ate. And I didn't even offer to help clean up and I didn't feel guilty about it either (though I did fill the dishwasher before Daddy-O cooked...)
I went back to the couch and finished Mac's FAFSA. Then I watched movies and read email and played Boggle on my phone.
ITSam came over and we watched a movie and then he left and I went to bed.
I was a complete bum who put on pj's at 4pm. And I really don't care.
I feel like I've been going 3000 miles an hour for the last month. I've physically felt like poop, completely wiped out. I've done two jobs the last 4 days and then had my big program for the Mardi Gras party. Add all the personal stuff like FAFSA, broken cars, Princess, money, taxes and just life, it's been a VERY STRESSFUL time. I told Daddy-O it was a good thing I lived with him (and respected him enough to not drink like a fish in his h0use) or I would've become an alcoholic in the last several months due to stress.
Last night's veg out session was awesome and I plan on doing a few more of those in the upcoming weeks.

Lady of Leisure day
Today I have no school. We have a 'winter break' day. We didn't have enough snow days to date to take it away so I actually have the day off tomorrow while all other schools in the county- Mac's included- have to go to school.
My big plan for the day involves doing nothing but things I want. Which means I'll probably spend quality time in my pajamas, reading, drinking coffee and reading some of my back dated fashion magazines (which is a 40 before 40 item...). I might scrapbook, or not. I might read blogs, or not. I might answer emails, or not. I might watch movies, or not. Whatever I do, it will be what I want and it will be fun.
I worked hard this weekend with ITSam's help. We cleaned the attic, and got about 80% finished. I can now see the floor again. We actually dusted and vacuumed. we found a place to put almost everything. I still need to clean my closet but this is a huge undertaking. We also overhauled Mac's half of the attic (with his help.) I've done copious amounts of laundry all weekend so there will only be about 2 loads left today and I may or may not do them. ITSam cleaned the bathroom and I did dishes. He mopped the floor and I put away all that laundry. We worked hard. We did play some but mostly is was a cleaning weekend, all so I can be a bum tomorrow.
I got some super nice sheets for Christmas with a high thread count; these are a luxury and feel like silk. We put them on my bed. I shaved my legs. I have clean jammies. I have some of my favorite creamer and a clean coffee cup. Let the relaxing commence!
