Hecate- your college students need to be told very specifically "Do not wear your jammies or slippers to school." Obviously they have no idea about good taste.

Hecate: there are actually a whole set of rules and when he passed the DMV gave them to us typed on a one page "at a glance" type of list to hang on the fridge.

for the first 180 days he may only drive with a family member (parent, step parent or guardian) who is 21 or older, or a non relative/ other relative no listed above who is 25 or older; and in either of these situations the person must have a valid our state license. He may drive alone, or he may drive with his sibling- a half brother who is 9 in Mac's case (or his child if he had one.... OMG!).

There are also certain hours he is NOT allowed to drive, and cell phone/ texting use is AGAINST THE LAW for kids while driving, too. There're more, but these are the highlights.

I see it all the time where I teach. Granted it's a college and we can't exactly "enforce" a dress code. But what I always found funny was someone wearing jammie pants and slippers, while carrying a Prada handbag. Did they spend all their money on the purse that makes it impossible to buy clothes.

They are told to wear appropriate clothing, but it seems that what the college deems appropriate and what the students deem appropriate differ vastly! LOL

OMG... I thought my mom was the only mom that made white rice and poured sugar and milk on it and served it with dinner. I did the same thing with the left over rice in the morning and make it now for my boys. The boys LOVE rice - sticky, steamed, fried or with milk/sugar. YUM-O. Ahhh... the memories. :-)
