Random thoughts from my brain on a rainy Friday

  • I've had several people ask me, since I started back subbing, if my last name was still the same. How sad people thought I got married when I'm not even dating.
  • I found a radio station whose tag line should be "songs to slit your wrists by"
  • And speaking of music, have you ever woken up in the morning with a super obscure song running through your head and when you turn on the car radio later that same day, it's the first song you hear. That happened to me this morning with the song "Send in the Clowns." See, I told you it was obscure.
  • It's always 10 or 11 pm at night when I want to cook a huge meal or I'm in the middle of doing something work related when I have a brilliant writing idea and then when I finally have the time to write it, I just can't seem to recapture the moment.
  • Who came up with the term HTML code? And what is the HTML code for a strike through and how do I use it in blogging?
  • I resigned from ice cream under good terms with the agreement that I would fill in when possible but when the time came for me to fill in, the older lady owner threw a fit so I guess I really AM done!
  • Why have I never learned to drive a stick shift?
  • When did it become dark at 7 pm at night? I've been here and awake at that time but last night it was black as pitch at 7 pm and I just noticed it.
  • I've fixed up four people in my day and 3 of them married the person I fixed them up with. I think some reciprocation is in order.
  • I don't care how much rain we get- I'm not sticking any animals in the ark I might have to build. And in the words of Bill Cosby channeling Noah, "What's a cubit?"
  • I forgot how tired subbing can make me but I'm glad to be doing it!

Maggie, a couple of things I'd like to ask you after reading this blog.

Do you have a picture of Trooper?

Do you really like Vera Wang?
I'm almost to the point of abandoning my Kohl's charge card because of the plethora of Vera Wang clothes they're carrying. I've really tried to like them, spent some really demoralizing time in the privacy of the dressing room looking like a fat cow! I'm of the personal opinion that the only people who look good in VW are 18 year old waif types. If you take a gander around the FW area, the number of women who answer to that description are far and few between- me included!

For strikethrough I've always used the < del > word < /del > tags (take out the spaces), but I believe < strike > blah < /strike > also works (again without the spaces - had to put them in to get the comment to post).

I've been wondering how to do a strikethrough too. Never occurred to me to ask about the HTML code. (Hyper text mark-up language, just in case you're wondering. No, I don't know what it means.)

Julie- I dont have a good pic of Trooper (or at least not one I can post here *wink*) Why do you ask? OMG- do you think you KNOW him?!?

And as for Vera Wang- I adore her shoes and purses... I completely agree with you on her clothes. I'm a plus sized gal (tho a small plus) and I cannot wear a thing in the clothing line. But I always say, shoes and purses fit everyone!

And I know what you mean about Northern Civilization being a not so skinny city. Do you remember when it was voted the "fattest" city in the country? Damn...

And Julie, we completely MUST meet. We must just exchange emails and plan a coffee visit and a trip to Hyde Bros!!!! I would LOVE to meet you!

Okay and one more thing: thanks so much for visiting this blog, Julie. It's obviously my main one and the one I love. glad you came by and hope to see you here again! Whew!

Wiley- thank you so much! I'm gonna give it a try and see if I can make it happen in the side bar! KISSES!

Bragger- that's what HTML means? Okaaay... I thought it was going to be a person or persons' initials.

And if you look at Wiley's comment, that allegedly is how you strike through; I'm gonna try it later tonight.

And if you don't know what it means, then I know I'm screwed.
